About Van Hipp

Van D. Hipp, Chairman of American Defense International (ADI), is an expert in government, military, and international affairs with more than two decades of experience working with U.S. Government agencies. ADI, a Washington, DC- based defense consulting firm, specializes in government relations, program development, business development, and strategic consulting. Van Hipp leads ADI to sustain its international clientele by paying close attention to the unique dynamics of each client project.

Earlier in Mr. Hipp’s career, he was Chairman of the South Carolina Republican Party. After stepping down from that position, he remained very active in the political arena. Van Hipp has spoken at the Republican National convention, and is a past member of the Presidential Electoral College.

Mr. Hipp is a veteran who has served with two branches of the U.S. Armed Forces. He was Deputy Assistant Secretary of the Army, and oversaw the mobilization of reserve forces during Operation Desert Storm. From 1991 to 1993, Mr. Hipp was the Principal Deputy General Counsel of the Navy.

In addition to his work at ADI, Van D. Hipp has been a frequent commentator on Fox News, and has appeared as an expert commentator on most of the major news networks in the U.S. and internationally in recent years. Mr. Hipp is a sought-after speaker on defense and international relations, and has published an array of articles on those topics.

Van D. Hipp lives in Alexandria with his wife and three children. He is on the National Board of Advisors for the Salvation Army, and has received the National Outstanding Achievement Award for his continued work with the National Rural Health Association.
